About

Regional Ads Australia is a new site created by mum-of-3 Robyn Stanley, who is based in Jamestown in mid-north South Australia. The site is aimed at people living in rural or regional areas of Australia that larger trading websites typically forget about. People in areas of lower population currently lack a means on most larger trading websites to search local listings in their near region without having to manually search for every single town within a few kilometres of them, or screen out ads from metro sellers that won't deliver to regional areas.

On the Regional Ads website, classified ads are organised and categorised the same way as on a bigger website but can be filtered by area, so you can browse the whole site as if it was for a very small area. This feature can be used by people in regional areas to set up local trading, similar to a local Facebook page but with more advanced categorisation and search functionality that makes it easier to use. Facebook pages can be annoying for infrequent visitors as a large number of unsorted posts quickly scrolls off the screen and it is easy to miss bargains. Of course, there is nothing stopping users of Regional Ads from crossposting a link to their ad to a Facebook trading page.

This site is also a great opportunity for metropolitan businesses who service regional areas to list their businesses complete with a full list of areas they service. These kinds of businesses might not be found by regional customers via services like the Yellow Pages as they have a metropolitan head office.

And who needs Farmer Wants A Wife? Regional Ads has a section for personal ads, so if you're looking for a good, honest country person, you might just find one on this site. Personal ads are only visible to registered users, for privacy reasons.

Regional Ads is free to use for casual users, with power users and business users being charged a small monthly fee. Power and business users can have more active ads at a time than free users.
